Hair lightening help

So here's what's on my hair right now, dark red dye - done in mid Dec. and before that two dyes, first one I failed at (I know, how is that possible?! :P It was my first time so...yeah.) which was back in...July? Sometime around then and the next day I went out and had to get a darker color just to get my hair an even tone. So my hair was a brown black till Dec. when my roots had grown out and I thought that the dye had faded enough on the ends for the red to show. Not. SO now I'm trying to get the dye out AND lighten my natural hair color to go a light brown if possible. I'm naturally a medium brown jsyk. :P

Now you know what my hair looks like. Onto the bleaching..

Wella Wellite Cream - Will this lighten my hair to what I want?

Wella Color Charm 20 Volume Clear Developer - Is this the developer I should use?

Do I need a toner? If I do, what do I get?

How much will this damage my hair and what product(s) should I get to help it?

Sorry for all the questions. I just need to get everything covered so I don't lose my hair. :P

I don't do anything with my hair really. I only blow dry it occasionally, flat iron only when I'm going out, I wash it every other day with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration.

Thanks!

I like Wella's wellite. A 20 developer is only going to lighten it a little, you might want to try a 30. But if you're looking for less damage, try the 20. You should do a strand test first.

You might need a toner depending on what kind of brown you want to hair and how red your hair looks after lightening it. But you can always use an ash based brown dye to help tone down the red. If not you'll just have a reddish brown color.
